Although most of the manuscripts are in good condition, some have suffered severe damage that threatens the preservation of their information. Therefore, in order to preserve the information contained therein, digitization was carried out. This study aims to examine how the preservation of ancient manuscript collections is implemented through digitization methods. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study are informants selected using purposive sampling techniques, consisting of library staff, and digitization partners. The objects of this study are the implementation of digitizing ancient manuscripts. The primary instrument in this study is the researcher themselves. Supporting instruments used include interview equipment, interview guidelines, and documentation guidelines. Data validity was tested using credibility checks such as triangulation and member checks, transferability tests, dependability tests, and confirmability tests. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the Widya Pustaka Library carries out the digitization process through three main stages: the pre-digitization stage (inventory, selection, and surveying the physical condition of library materials, preparing a photo room, preparing equipment, evaluating and analyzing metadata, determining digital file formats and selecting object capture methods), the digitization stage (equipment calibration, object capture, file conversion, digital object correction, file compilation files, packaging multimedia in offline format), and the post-digitization stage (collecting master files, creating data copies, verifying digitization results and data checklists, and implementing a system for managing and accessing digital objects).
