Iqbal NafiauthorThis study examines the economic policies of Caliph Harun al-Rashid (786-809 AD) in creating social justice during the reign of the Abbasid Dynasty. Harun al-Rasyid was a generous caliph, devoted to knowledge, and devoted to scholars and scientists. However, this thesis attempts to explore the economic policies of Harun al-Rasyid, which impacted public welfare through the equitable distribution of state revenues. By using a sociology-economic approach and a biographical approach, this study seeks to understand the relationship between social structure, the distribution of state wealth, and government policies towards public welfare. The method used is the historical method, through four main stages: heuristics (collecting primary and secondary sources), verification (external and internal criticism), interpretation (analyzing historical data), and historiography (writing history systematically). The results of this study indicate that Harun al-Rashid implemented various progressive economic policies, including in the field of agriculture through the development of irrigation systems and tax reform, in the field of trade through infrastructure development and market regulation, and in the field of public finance through efficient management of Baitul Mal. The policy had implications for economic equality, strengthening the financial institution system (Baitul Mal), and protecting the weak. The leadership period of Harun al-Rashid became an important milestone in the economic history of Muslims.
