However, the optimization of these natural resources requires community empowerment to increase community capacity and participation in tourism management. This study aims to identify community empowerment strategies based on natural resource potential in the management of Umbul Sidomulyo Tourism Village, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving tourism managers and local community members. The results show that community empowerment is implemented through five aspects proposed by Edi Suharto, namely enabling, empowering, protecting, supporting, and maintaining. The community is involved in utilizing the spring, participating in training and comparative studies, making decisions, managing tourism activities, and maintaining tourism facilities and the surrounding environment. The supporting factors include awareness of natural resource potential, economic objectives, mutual cooperation, and community participation, while the inhibiting factors include limited knowledge and experience, limited funding and facilities, initial doubts among some community members, and environmental sustainability challenges. In conclusion, community empowerment plays an important role in optimizing natural resource potential and supporting the sustainable management of Umbul Sidomulyo Tourism Village.
