      "abstract": "The development of digital technology and the presence of screen-reading\r\ntechnologies such as NVDA, JAWS, and TalkBack have become essential tools for\r\nvisually impaired students to support academic activities and enhance digital\r\nliteracy amid skill gaps caused by individual and environmental factors. Through\r\ndescriptive qualitative research using a phenomenological approach collecting\r\ndata via observation, in-depth interviews with six visually impaired students, and\r\ndocumentation, validated through method triangulation the study reveals that\r\nstudents generally possess good digital literacy skills in accessing academic\r\nservices, searching, selecting, evaluating, and verifying scientific information, and\r\neven utilizing artificial intelligence for preliminary information retrieval. This\r\ncapability is supported by the inclusive services of the Disability Service Center at\r\nUIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, technology training, support from family, peers,\r\nlecturers, the disability community, and personal motivation, despite facing\r\nobstacles such as the limited accessibility of certain websites\/applications, internet\r\nconnection issues, and the adaptation process for those who lost their sight in\r\nadulthood. Examined through Anthony Giddens' structuration theory, this digital\r\nliteracy proficiency is formed through a reciprocal relationship between individual\r\ncapacity as an agent and institutional support as a structure.",
