Instagram was selected as an educational medium because it provides visual and interactive features, including the carousel feature, which can be used to present information systematically and attractively. This study aims to develop Instagram content on sunscreen as an educational medium regarding the dangers of ultraviolet radiation and to determine its effect on the understanding and attitudes of followers. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive and explanatory research design using a pretest-posttest method. The developed product was carousel content published on the Instagram account @giastory_. The research respondents consisted of 60 followers, comprising 24 males and 36 females. Data were collected using validation sheets, product assessment sheets, a Guttman-scale understanding questionnaire, and a Likert-scale attitude questionnaire. The validity of the instrument was analyzed using Aiken’s V, while differences between the pretest and posttest results were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the product received a mean score of 3.58, categorized as Good, from the material expert and a mean score of 4.30, categorized as Very Good, from the media expert. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significance value of <0.001 for both understanding and attitudes. The mean understanding score increased from 9.0667 to 9.6500, while the mean attitude score increased from 36.0333 to 37.7167. Therefore, there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results, indicating that Instagram content on sunscreen as education on the dangers of ultraviolet radiation had a significant effect on improving followers’ understanding and attitudes. The limitation of this study is that the educational content focused only on skin health and Instagram was used as the sole publication medium. %Z Drs. Nur Untoro, M. Si.
