        abstract = {Recognizing Hijaiyah letters is a fundamental skill that students need in
learning the Qur'an. However, students' abilities to recognize Hijaiyah letters vary;
therefore, appropriate learning media are needed to support the learning process.
This study aimed to determine: (1) the ability of first-grade students at MI NU
Margokaton Seyegan to recognize Hijaiyah letters before using flipbook learning
media; (2) the students' ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters after using flipbook
learning media; and (3) the effectiveness of flipbook learning media in improving
students' recognition of Hijaiyah letters.
This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental
method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects consisted
of 19 first-grade students at MI NU Margokaton Seyegan. Data were collected
through tests, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using
descriptive statistical analysis, a normality test, and hypothesis testing using the
Paired Sample t-Test.
The results showed that the students' ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters
before using the flipbook learning media had a mean pretest score of 62.42. After
using the flipbook learning media, the mean posttest score increased to 81.32. Thus,
there was an increase of 18.90 points in the mean score. The results of the
hypothesis test using the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value of 0.000
{\ensuremath{<}} 0.05; therefore, H{$_0$} was rejected and H? was accepted. This indicates that there
was a significant difference in students' ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters before
and after using the flipbook learning media. Therefore, this flipbook learning media
was effective in improving Hijaiyah letter recognition among first-grade students at
MI NU Margokaton Seyegan.}
