Therefore, the importance of moral education in education, both in general and in Islamic education specifically, especially within the family environment, must be a primary focus. Morals play a crucial role in education, both theoretically and practically, as they embody Islamic normative values and exemplary behavior. This research aims to analyze the relevance of character education rubu’ al-munjiyat in the book Ihya>’ ‘Ulu>m ad-Di>n in Islamic religious education in the contemporary era. This research falls into the category of library research, which refers to research that examines and analyzes various written sources. The writing approach uses the content analysis method, highlighting the primary purpose of the analysis. The data collection technique used in this research was a documentation study. The research data sources were divided into primary sources, namely the Ihya>’ ‘Ulu>m ad-Di>n, and several secondary sources aimed at supporting or corroborating the primary sources. Research Results: The concept of character education offered by Imam Ghazali is increasingly relevant because it emphasizes a balance between intellectual development, moral development, and purification of the soul, as well as the ability to respond to modern developments in accordance with Islamic values. In the digital era, character education is relevant because digital exposure carries real moral risks, including a decline in social sensitivity. Character education, according to Imam Ghazali, is a process of moral formation carried out gradually and continuously through role models, habituation, self-control training, counseling, and reflection or self-evaluation. The character education values contained in Ihya>’ ‘Ulum ad-Din> still have high relevance to the implementation of Islamic religious education in the contemporary era because they can be a conceptual and philosophical basis in forming students who are faithful, pious, have noble character, are independent, and responsible. %Z Prof. Dr. Mahmud Arif, M.Ag.
