	bibo:abstract "Agarwood (Aquilaria sp.) is a high-value commodity; however, the natural\r\nformation of agarwood resin requires a relatively long period. The injection of\r\npathogenic fungi has been employed as an approach to accelerate agarwood\r\nformation in response to increasing market demand. This study aimed to determine\r\nthe effects of different Fusarium sp. isolates and inoculum concentrations on\r\nagarwood formation. The fungi used were FusCB1, FusCB2, FusCB3, and BD2 at\r\nconcentrations of 1×10⁶ and 1×10⁷ conidia/mL, with PDB as the control. All isolates\r\nexhibited cellulase and laccase activities, indicating their enzymatic potential to\r\nsupport infection in agarwood tissues. Inoculation with Fusarium sp. stimulated\r\nagarwood formation, as indicated by changes in the metabolite profile based on GCMS\r\nanalysis. The FusCB1 treatment at a concentration of 1×10⁷ conidia/mL\r\nproduced isoaromadendrene epoxide, a sesquiterpenoid compound associated with\r\nthe characteristic aroma of agarwood, and resulted in the highest aroma intensity\r\nbased on the olfactory test. Therefore, artificial inoculation using Fusarium sp. has\r\npotential as an efficient approach for the development of agarwood cultivation\r\ntechnology."^^xsd:string;
