%X This study aimed to find out effectiveness on the library OPAC STIKES
Ahmad Yani in Yogyakarta refer to recall and precision differences between
search title and subject approach. This research was a laboratory experiment used
quantitative methods. The subjects in this study was contained in the database
collection record on the library OPAC STIKES Ahmad Yani Yogyakarta, while
the object was library OPAC STIKES Ahmad Yani Yogyakarta. Method of data
collection used observation, testing, documentation, and interviews.
The results showed that the total recall and precision on the retrieval
system of OPAC STIKES Ahmad Yani Yogyakarta Library by a point in the title
search to acquired recall value of 88.73% and precision value of 96%. While
through the search subject recall value of 65.09% and 90.3% precision. Value of
recall and precision on the library OPAC STIKES Ahmad Yani Yogyakarta,
inferential that effective succeded as the information retrieval systems.
Information retrieval system in the OPAC STIKES Ahmad Yani Yogyakarta had
better use of “advanced search” by a point title search, because this point can
netted of collection on the strength of title and subject, while a point subject
search cannot netted collection on the strength of title.
