The gap between formal regulatory  compliance and the substantive implementation of Islamic values in  risk governance represents an underexplored empirical problem,  particularly within the context of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This  study aims to analyze a model for strengthening risk management  effectiveness based on the principle of Saddu Dzari’ah in Islamic  banking. The study employs a quantitative approach using Structural  equation modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), with data  collected through structured questionnaires administered to  respondents directly involved in risk management at BSI.  The results indicate that all hypotheses (H1–H10) are supported.  Management Commitment (X1), Organizational Culture (X2), and  MRM Implementation (X3) each demonstrated a positive and  significant effect on Saddu Dzari’ah (Z), with MRM Implementation  emerging as the strongest technical predictor (path coefficient = 0.498;  T = 10.448; p < 0.001). All three variables, together with Saddu  Dzari’ah, significantly influenced Risk Management Effectiveness  (Y). Mediation analysis (H8–H10) further confirmed that the Saddu  Dzari’ah principle successfully mediates the relationship between the  independent variables and risk management effectiveness. These  findings provide empirical evidence that risk management  effectiveness in Islamic banking is not solely determined by  managerial support and organizational culture, but equally requires the  implementation of the Saddu Dzari’ah principle as a tangible  manifestation of proactive preventive measures, supported by a robust  MRM system.
