%X Coping the problem of poverty, especially for poor people in
destitute countries, is not an easy task. Studies of it are truly
developing very fast now, for in the 90-s, poverty, destitute areas
and the ways to tackle the problem became most people's focus
of attention. But it does not mean that the effort has reached its
desired goals successfully.
This paper will present a few results of empirical studies by the
KKN program (Field-work Exercise) held by IAIN Sunan Kalijaga
Yogyakarta in the target areas: destitute villages as well as poor
peripheral areas, in all districts of Yogyakarta Special Province
