description: This research aims to see the role of religious-mental guidance  for the neglected dropped-out children at social institution "Bina  Remaja Sleman Yogyakarta".  The guidance religious materials applied at the institution are  as follows: Islamic theology, jurisprudence, religious ritualities,  ethics, qur'anic reading, daily prayers and preaching. The  guidance at the institution is applied in cooperation with  gouvernmental and non governmental institutions, social  organizations and societal figures such as: religious affairs  department, islamic-educational institutions, social workers,  social institutions, religious leaders and other societal figures.  The success of this guidance at the institutions can be seen from  religious-mental the children's behaviours such as: their  increasing participation religious activities at the mosques, their  ability to recite the Qur'an, and to memorize short surahs of the  qur'an, daily prayers and to follow other religious activities
