Quality of education itself is strongly influenced by the role of teachers and students in it. The library is one of the facilities provided by the school teachers must be empowered in order for students library can be a source of learning for him. SMP Negeri 2 Banyuasin I Banyuasin district in South Sumatra has a library which is pretty good in terms of collection and interest go from user, but still do not have a librarian. Based on the above fact, the purpose of this research is: To formulate how the role of the teacher in the use of the library as a learning resource students of SMP Negeri 2 Banyuasin I Banyuasin distrrict in South Sumatra, to formulate the constraints faced by teachers in the use of the library as a learning resource students of SMP Negeri 2 Banyuasin I Banyuasin district in South Sumatra. Approach in terms of analysis, this research included in the qualitative research. Data obtained through the methods and data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation of 11 teachers as research informants. Analysis of the data using the procedure proposed by Miles and Huberman of data reduction, data display, and data verification. Furthermore, the data tested its validity by testing techniques according to Moleong include credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Results of this research show that, 1) that the teacher was instrumental in the use of the library as a resource for students at SMP Negeri 2 Banyuasin I Banyuasin regency in South Sumatra, this can be evidenced by the very close relationship between the willingness of students to come and use the library with role teachers in it. 2) Constraints faced by teachers in the use of the library as a resource for students at SMP Negeri 2 Banyuasin I Banyuasin regency in South Sumatra which are, a) the limited human resources, b) the condition of the building that does not meet standards for student convenience, c) means and infrastructure that have not been up to support services, d) the condition of library materials library is partially worn and still has not fully meet all the information user needs.
