abstract: The Public Service Institution of Islamic State University (UIN)
Sunan Kalijaga on its movement has conducted various
periodically and planned activities as part of the public service
implementation to the society. One of those activities is a village's
guidance program/ a work partnership village which in 2006
has turn out to be 20 locations in residency/city of Yogyakarta.
This program has been started since UIN was still in the form of
IAIN (Islamic Religion State Institute). The program has been
effective for the society especially in the area of remote,
underdeveloped, and poverty village. However, on realization
of the program, there are some weaknesses, especially on the
aspect of method, so that the society's empowerment has not
been optimal. This condition is probably because there are still
some influences of the IAIN era. With the change of IAIN status
to be UIN with the integration-interconnection paradigm, it is
supposed that the realization of village guidance could be
adjusted with that new paradigm, and the existed weakness
could be inininuzed. Furthermore, this writing would be focused
on a discourse of village's guidance organization with
integration-interconnection paradigm.
