Meanwhile\r\nfundamentalism calls for moslem community\r\nto back to fundamental Islamic principles, in\r\nthe sense that the Islamic teaching is complete\r\nand all-embracing. It is not necessarily interpreted\r\nin the context of social change.\r\nAccording to the modernists, which are represented\r\nby Muhammad Rasyid Ridha, jihad is\r\nmeant as all endeavors of the believer to enact\r\nthe truth, right, and glory, as well as against the\r\nbatil Mukmin's jihad is to face himself by detaching\r\nfrom lust drives and guide him to follow\r\nthe truth; strive to encounter sin-doers by preaching,\r\nand giving alms either wealth or body. According\r\nto Sayyid Quthb's notion, as one of the\r\nrepresentatives of the fundamentalist, jihad comprises\r\na struggle to destroy every power that\r\nhinder Islam way; to free humand being to decide\r\nbelief faqidahj, to upgrade Allah's manhaj in\r\nthe world; to realize truth, maslahah, and to develop\r\ncommunity. To sum up, the interpretation\r\nof jihad in the light of the modernist is inclusive\r\nand relevant to the context of Indonesian society\r\nnowadays, meanwhile that of the fundamentalist\r\nthat tends to be exclusive apparently is not\r\napt to the hereness context."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
