The internal dynamic of this philosophy in Western philosophy is very complex as well. It can be divided into two extreme isms, that is, atheistic or non religious existentialism and theistic or religious existentialism. In reverse, in the history of Islamic philosophy, Moslem philosophers whose philosophies can be characterized as existentialism are still very rarely. But it does not mean that existentialistic philosophy cannot be found in the history of Islamic philosophy. Muhammad Iqbal is one of Moslem existentialists. Even though he never call himself as existentialist, but his philosophical thoughts denote the basic characters of existentialism. The article tries to show the arguments from which Iqbal can be established as existentialist or especially theistic or religious existentialist.
