%A - SUPA'AT %J Jurnal Kependidikan Islam Vol.3 No.1 Januari-Juli 2008 %T PARADIGMA BARU PENGELOLAAN MADRASAH %X This article discusses new paradigm in madrasah management. Based on UUSPN No. 2 Th. 1989 and UUSPN No. 20 Th. 2003 madrasah has been recognized as a sub-system of national education, and this means that madrasah has a legal formal status. The author argues that the new status of madrasah shows that this educational institution, as a public senior high school with Islamic character, not only equal but in some points better to that of general public school. Political reformation in the form of district autonomy gives impact to the management of madrasah. School-based management, as a manifestation of community-based education, requires madrasah to reform its management, otherwise it cannot implement this kind of management. As we know, school-based management needs community participation in terms of planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating school programs. To face a continuous changing society and to meet stakeholder expectation, it is necessary for the madrasah to change its academic and management vision, otherwise it will be marginalized in a competitive school world. %D 2008 %K paradigma baru, globalisasi, otonomi, community based education, school based management, affirmative action, kualitas dan keunggulan lokal %L digilib8589
