This study can be used as consideration to improve information retrieval services at the library. The method which will be used in this research is quantitative descriptive. The population in this research is 13.835 user in the Kantor Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta with 99 user as the sample. The data collection methods which will be used are questionnaire, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis use Mean and Grand Mean. Based on the data which already processed, it has been known that the user behavior in information retrieval in the Kantor Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta is classified in the good category, proved with Grand Mean of 2,62. The question clarification phase or information demand is well considered with Grand Mean of 2,54. The assessment of research scope phase is well considered with Grand Mean of 2,56. The main research phase is well considered with Grand Mean of 2,77. The additional search is well considered with Grand Mean of 2,51. The search result preparation phase is well considered with Grand Mean of 2,75. Based on this research, the library should conduct educational activities users so that users can get to know and be able to use the library facilities or the facilities of existing search tools and librarians more active role in serving the user.
