N2  - Retirement is a time to stop working, the time when a person no longer worksformally at the organized commercial company due to limitation of age, or involuntary. Retirement time often leads to feeling of unuseful for employees who will retire both in the environment family and the community because of the fact that people are afraid of losing they meaningfultime . Circumstances in which a person has a lack of the meaning of life called noogenic condition characterized by a state of neurosis that is states without meaning, without purpose, without intention and void because there is no meaning in his life. Meaningful life will be owned by a person if he knows what the meaning of a life choice. The meaning of life stems from a vision of life, expectancy of life, and the reasons why someone should continue to live so that someone will be tough in the face of any adversity, including retirement.
This study aims to find and to discover the meaningfulness of life of employee and to look at the influence of motive of employee in facing of retirement. The meaning of life is a power of human life, which is always encouraging someone to have a commitment to life after retirement occurred in his life.
This research was conductedabout 6 months to the two employees who will bein retirement in Jepara, Central Java with qualitative methods research. Data are obtained through in-depth interviews with informant, observations and life history of the informant along with the other significant person to clarify the obtained data.
The results of this study state that the two informants during retirement doing the things that are closer to the family and community like help the family and follow the activities in the community because of the second phase experienced by informant is the honeymoon phase is the earliest phase of the retirement. The second similarity lies in the form of informant family history of their achievement they get from base to high levels.
Religious activity that they emphasize the fill leisure activities have different motive, Sri who have religious motives to seek forgiveness for their sins and mistakes while Umar who have motive to improve the way of worship and for future.
