abstract: This study aims to determine the relationship between body image with self-control on adolescent eating patterns in SMK Negeri 2 Godean. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a positive relationship between body image with self-control on adolescent eating patterns in SMK Negeri 2 Godean. The sample was 80 students of class XI SMK Negeri 2 Godean. Scale data collection tool using body image and self-control scale on diet. Analysis of the data by using the technique of Pearson’s correlation product moment with SPSS 16.00 for Windows.
The results showed no significant positive relationship between body image with self-control in the diet, which has a correlation coefficient (r) = 0,792 and p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). The higher the body image of teens owned the higher the self-control on adolescent eating patterns. Conversely, if the lower body image then the lower the self-control on this diet. Body image affects self-control in eating patterns of (r2) = 62,7 %.
