Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors affecting the utilization of the existing collection of journals in the Library of the Faculty of Economics Unvirsitas Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta. This research is descriptive quantitative research, the method used is a method of inquiry, documentation, interviews, and literature studies. The sample used is incidental sampling technique with the sample number is 98. Data were processed using statistical software SPSS for Windows version 20. Descriptive analysis of data using a percentage formula. The results of this study are that (1). completeness of the collection in the library in the high category, or both. (2). Utilization of the journal collection of the Library Student Faculty of Economics, Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta included in the high category that is equal to 71.76%. of indicators of utilization of the highest value of the journal collection is a motive that is equal to 74.22%, followed by indicators of the skills of librarians at 73.36%, an indicator of the completeness of the journal collection by 73.08%, 72.60% of the needs indicators, indicator availability search facility returns of 72.11%, and the indicators that have the lowest value of 65.19% interest. From the research it can be concluded that the complete collection of journals and journal collections utilization of libraries by students of Faculty of Economics, University Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta in high or good category. Advice, in order to increase student interest in utilizing the library journal collection should provide a collection of journals that are suited to the needs of students.
