Abstract
Ikan gabus (Channa stirata) adalah salah satu satu ikan asli yang hidup di perairan tawar di Indonesia. Ikan ini telah lama dikenal dan digemari oleh masyarakat, sehingga menjadi target penangkapan para pencari ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui struktur histologi ginjal dan testis ikan gabus (Channa striata). Pada penelitian ini, spesies ikan gabus (Channa striata) jantan diambil ginjal dan testisnya untuk dibuat preparat histologi dengan metode paraffin menggunakan pewarnaan Hematoxylin- Eosin dan Mallory Acid Fuchsin. Pembuatan preparat histologi dilakukan dengan mengiris ginjal dan testis dalam blok paraffin menggunakan mikrotom untuk menghasilkan irisan membujur dan melintang. Dari hasil pengamatan secara mikroskopi dengan pewarnaan Hematoxylin- Eosin (HE), ginjal terdiri atas bagian- bagian tubulus renalis, jaringan hematopoeitik, glumerulus, renal tube, dan pada pewarnaan Mallory Acid Fuchsin terlihat jelas warna biru pada jaringan ikat di luar renal tube. Sedangkan pada testis terdapat adanya bagian- bagian tubulus seminiferous, spermatogonia, spermatid, dan lumen, serta jaringan ikat terletak di dalam tubulus seminiferous.
