Abstract

This study aims to obtain an objective picture of the extent of the role of the Library "School" mBrosot in non-formal education community Lendah Kulon Progo district. Two research questions posed in accordance with the research objectives, namely: 1) How the role of the Library "School" mBrosot in the non-formal education in the District of Kulon Progo Lendah? 2) How the socialization process and the implementation of the Library program "School" mBrosot in promoting non-formal public education in the District of Kulon Progo Lendah? The approach used in this study is the qualitative method. The method that was used to collect data through observation, interview and documentation. The validity of the data used is the technique of triangulation and cross-checking (member check). Conclusions from this research is 1) The role of library "school" for the community mBrosot District Lendah have a positive value for the whole circle from children, teenagers and the elderly. They also take a part in non-formal educational activities organized. 2) Socialization process is done starting from the following community meetings were held until Independence helped enliven the event by holding a number of activities aimed at children, teens and parents. 3) Implementation of non-formal educational activities created in the form of creative class covering: comic class, theater classes, dance classes, writing classes, class work cubits, language classes, discussion classes. All classes are taught aimed at children, teenagers and the elderly. Suggestions: 1) As a matter of library at non-formal education for the community to stand by the creative class activities especially for children as such activity has long-term positive effects for children. 2) To resume processing activities from recording collection, treatment to distribution to consumers that borrowing and lending activities well organized book.
