Abstract

The development of computer technology and the internet is so fast has directed businesses to utilize online business. The increasing number of online businesses that have sprung up making higher competition, no exception for online bookshop. With the increasing number of options available online bookshop, customers will choose the best service. Thus to increase new customers and maintain the loyalty of existing customers needed better services to customers, not just sell books online. This research build an online bookstore prototype with a method of CRM (Customer Relationship Management). CRM is a strategy which is well known in the service to customers. With CRM, business focus is no longer just sales, but more in the direction of good service to customers. The type of CRM that used is Operational CRM, which is related to the automation of front office business processes that contribute in the interaction with the customer. The system is built using the PHP programming language with CodeIgniter framework and MySQL database. The system has the functions of sales, service, and advertising. Sales function serves as bookshop in general, that is search and ordering books. Service functions include the provision of news, messages with customer service, and forums. And the ad includes the latest books and best sellers/popular. There are some tests performed. Results of testing the functionality of the system shows all goes well, the test results show the system has a good interface and test results indicate customer satisfaction customer satisfaction adequately met. so can be concluded that the system is feasible to be used.
