Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the level of information literacy of teachers of MI YAPPI Bansari, Kepek, Wonosari in the academic year 2013/2014 in selecting teaching materials consisting of 6 stages namely: information definition, information seeking strategies, find information source, use of information, synthesis of information, and evaluation. Descriptive quantitative is applied in this study. 12 teachers of MI YAPPI Bansari was the population and became the sample as well. Data obtained showed that the level of information literacy of teachers of MI YAPPI Bansari, Kepek, Wonosari is in the medium category with a grand mean of 3.0. Average value in the problem definition stage is 3.2; at information seeking strategies stage 3.1 ; at find information source stage 3.1; the use of information stage 2.9; synthesis stage 2.9, and 2.8 at evaluation stage. Teacher is expected to improve the learning of literacy skills with more targeted information so that teachers have the skills and adequate information literacy provision in selecting instructional teaching materials.
