Abstract

This study ains to determine how correlation between Self-Concept with Communication Anxiety on Student Semester 3 Departement of Psychology UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. the hypothesis of this study is the negative correlation between Self-Concept with Communication Anxiety on Student Semester 3 Departement of Psychology UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013. Samples in this study were 100 men taken from the 3rd semester of classes A and B. Two scales were used in data collection is based on self-concept scale aspects of sel-concept in the opinion of Burn (1993) and communication anxiety scale whisch is based on aspects of communication anxiety by Burgoon & Ruffner (1975). Hypothesis testing was done by using statistical test-Pearson Produck Moment correlation. The analysis showed that the correlation coefficient r = 0,162 and p = 0,108 (p > 0,05). The study found that there is a not correlation between self-concept with communication anxiety on Student Semester 3 Departement of Psychology UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in Academic, but the previously proposed hypothesis is rejected. Contribution toward Anxiety Self-Concept of Communication at 2,6 %.
