Abstract

This research aimed to identify the level of student mastery of concepts based on the direction of the electric circuit graph representation and verbal representations, as well as the consistency of the students in answering test questions and verbal representations of graphs. This kind of research is a descriptive. The population in this study is a class X student of SMAN 10 Yogyakarta with samples graders, XB, XD and XE total number of 101 students were obtained through random sampling technique. Technique of data collection is the technique of testing a graphical representation of multiple choice questions and verbal, with interviews of students to ensure and check the data obtained from the written test answers. Technique of data analisis is the descriptive statistic. The results of the research showed that students' level of understanding on the concept of unidirectional electrical circuit graph-based representation is 49% students, 45% students in the moderate category, 7% students in the high category. While the students' understanding about verbal representations classified as moderate as many as 69% students, 32% students in the low category, 0% students in the high category. Consistency of students' understanding of the concept-based unidirectional electrical circuit graph representation and verbal based on the results of the study there were 72% students consistently at number 3, 62% students did not consistently at number 14, and 79 students consistently wrong on number 7. From these data it can be concluded that the students 'comprehension on tests of verbal representations higher than the students' understanding of the test graph representation.
