Abstract

This research was motivated by the presence of negative views about planning events that occur in the event management of Yogyakarta Arts Festival (FKY). Yogyakarta Art Festival (FKY) is an arts and cultural events regularly held every year in Yogyakarta and has the intent and purpose as a medium of communication of identity and image of Yogyakarta. This study discusses the implementation of event management planning Yogyakarta Arts Festival (FKY). The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of event management planning Yogyakarta Arts Festival (FKY) as a Media Communication Identity of Yogyakarta. The method used descriptive qualitative. Planning event management organization of Yogyakarta Arts Festival (FKY) discussed with event management planning model Goldbatt. The study found that the implementation of event management planning Yogyakarta Art Festival (FKY) through the planning stages ranging from research, design, planning, coordination, and evaluation. But, there are weaknesses in the implementation of event management planning Yogyakarta Arts Festival (FKY) the absence of strategic planning platform and also planning preparation period is very short.
