Abstract

2014 This study aims to determine the perception of the visitors to utilization Wi- Fi at the Library of the State Islamic University Sunan Kalidjaga Yogyakarta. The variable in this study is the perception of the utilization of Wi-Fi. The population in this research that students are active according to the Library of the State Islamic University Sunan Kalidjaga Yogyakarta in June 2014 sampling was conducted using Probabality sampling with the proportionate stratified random sampling technique obtained 100 samples. Data collection using questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data collection instrument using a Likert scale questionnaire enclosed with the already tested for validity and reliability. Analysis of the data using formulas Grand Mean and mean. The results showed the utilization of Wi-Fi by the visitors in the library at UIN Sunan Kalidjaga are mobile wireless sub-variables have an average value of 3.256 and categorized very well. At a relatively inexpensive wireless sub-variables have an average value of 3.256 and categorized very well. Overall perception of the utilization of Wi-Fi in the library UIN Sunan Kalidjaga has an average value of 3.3 and very well categorized. Recommendations are given is so that the visitors can take advantage of Wi-Fi in the library of the State Islamic University of Yogyakarta Sunan Kalidjaga to find the information needed to complete the final task or other tasks.
