Abstract

This study aims to determine how the news media frame the issue of Pekan Kondom Nasional (PKN) in commemoration of World AIDS HIV and Republika newspaper edition on 1 to 4 December 2013. To answer that, this study will highlight four aspects of how the news media assembles structures. Four aspects of the syntactic structure of how the media is preparing fact, the structure of the script how the media tells the truth, the thematic structure of how the media write the facts, and the rhetorical structure of how the media emphasize the fact. This study uses qualitative research methods to the analysis model of framing Pan & Kosicki Zhongdang models that analyze the syntactic structure, thematic structure, the structure of the script, and rhetorical structures of news of national condom week. On the right 1desember celebrated as World AIDS Day. Coinciding with the warning Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS Nasional (KPAN) in collaboration with the Private Party launched Pekan Kondom Nasional, so on December 1-4 many mass media proclaim PKN with each presentation style. Republika has its own style of news reporting within the PKN. Reporting on the framing of Republika be analyzed using analysis techniques Zhongdang Pan & Rosicki models which further results of this analysis will be tested using method triangulation theory validation. Techniques of data analysis done by selecting the data, classification of data, formulating research and analyze the resulting data. The results of this study are expected to explain of viewpoint Republika in present news National Condom Week (PKN) in commemoration of World AIDS Day.
