Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of psychoeducation "Pengasuhan Ibu Bijak" in reducing maltreatment behavior of mother. moreover, this study also aims to know whether there are differences maltreatment behavior of mother between the control group and the experimental group after being treated. The research subjects were 30 mothers of children under five who commit maltreatment behavior in their parenting , such as physical abuse, child neglect, and emotional abuse ( mental injury as a result of psychologica or verba abuse ) were divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group of 15, and the control group of 15 persons. psychoeducation "pengasuhan ibu bijak " is given 3 sessions in 1 meeting. Maltreatment was measured using the Maltreatment Scale given before the given psychoeducation ( pretest ), given after psychoeducation ( posttes ), and a week after being given treatment ( follow-up ). Quantitative analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed - Rank technique to determine the difference between pretest and posttest , and Mann Whitney U technique to determine the ratio between the two samples . Based on quantitative data analysis of pretest and posttest measurement of experimental group, gained Z value = -3.301 and significance level = 0.001 ( p < 0.05 ) , which showed no difference in maltreatment behavior between pretest and posttest . However , the acquisition posttest score of experimental and control group, gained Z value = -0.647 with a significance level of 0.517 ( p > 0.05 ) , which showed no difference in maltreatment behavior between the experimental and control group after being treated. Based on the above results , the psychoeducation "pengasuhan ibu bijak" is not statistically can reduce maltreatment behavior in the parenting process .
