Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between authoritarian parenting and the addiction of online-game. The subjects were elementary school children of East Sinduadi, with the number of subject was 55 children. Authoritarian parenting was measured by the scale of authoritarian parenting, while the aadition of online-game was measured by the own scale of the addiction itself. This research used quantitative research method with pearson correlation of analisys method to determine the correlation between authoritarian parenting and online-gaming addiction on school-age children. The statistical calculation result showed that the correlation coefficient was 0,54, with the scale of significancy 0,697 (p > 0,05). The result prove that there was no positive significant corelation between authoritarian parenting and online-gaming addition on elementary school children. The result also stated that the proposed hypothesis was rejected.
