Abstract

Indonesian batik as the nation cultural heritage nowadays is facing the threat of free trade. The threat comes from printed batik products from another countries which are sold in the Indonesian market with lower price. Since Indonesian batik is more expensive, that kind of threat is potential to ruin the Indonesian batik market. Not all people have good understanding about Indonesian batik. This qualitative descriptive research applies three data collecting techniques: observation, interview, and documentation study. Resource triangulation is applied to check the validity of the Resources. The subject of this research is Ikatan Pencinta Batik Nusantara, and the object is promotion strategy through events in growing the love for Indonesian batik. This research concludes that there are some promotion strategies through the event of Putra Putri Batik Nusantara in growing the love for Indonesian batik which includes social media, mass media, and events. Promotion through events is held in order to grow the love for Indonesian batik in the society.
