Abstract

The purpose of this research are (1) to find out the Strategic Planning Process of Collection Development in the Indonesian Lslamic University Library Yogyakarta in 2012; (2) to find out the supporting factors and the obstacles encountered in the Indonesian Islamic Uuniversity Library Yogyakarta in 2012. This research is qualitative descriptive study with the object of research is strategic planning process undertaken by the indonesian islamic university library in 2012. Data collection techniques are observation, interview and documentation. The informants in this study is the head of the library directorate, division head of procurement and public administration and finance. Results of this research showed that of the existing the Strategic Planning Process of Collection Development in the Library and Museum of Indonesian Islamic University in 2012 was 8 of 9 theory used by researcher has done and running properly. Factors supporting the course of the Strategic Planning Process of Collection Development in the Library and Museum of Indonesian Islamic University in 2012 is influenced by human resource and budget. While the constraints faced by Indonesian Islamic University library is a problem of management , as well as the arrangement of space that still need to be restyled to be effective and efficient .
