Abstract

Research about Implementation Standar Operating Procedures Related to Collection Development in Library of Gadjah Mada University aims to match and identify implementation collection development of books activity in Gadjah Mada University Library based on SOP Gadjah Mada Library University in 2011. The methods used in this research that uses qualitative descriptions . Data collection methods used using interviews , observation and documentation. Methods of data analysis in this study was based on the theory of Miles and Huberman three steps ( 1 ) data reduction; focusing on the theme of research (2) data display explained based on observations, interview, and documentation, and ( 3 ) conclution summing up the results of analysis after the analysis stage is completed. While testing the validity of the data in this study conducted in four ways, namely: credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of this study concluded that the implementation of collection development of Books in the Gadjah Mada Library University in 2011 related to SOP is correctly with the application in the field. Obstacles encountered in the implementation of the SOP is the lack of socialization of the working procedure called SOP at Gadjah Mada University Library to the entire staff and librarians at the Library of the University of Gadjah Mada .
