Abstract

This paper discusses the activities preservation information of digital collections through activities of media transferin Directorate library of Indonesian Islamic University. This research aimed to describe preservation information of digital collection. This research was conducted at the Directorate library of Indonesian Islamic University using qualitative research methods, is to dig the facts relating to thepreservation information of digital collection through the media transfer rather thenbe described with reference to the items in the interview questions in the field. After the data collected and presented in the form of words or phrases that correspond to the reality, in this research the main instrument is the researchers themselves, and therefore researchers conduct their own observation / observation and indeep interview to get in-depth information. Data analysis techniques in this research starts from the data has been collected (data from interviews, observation, and documentation) is reduced by means analyzed and interpreted and then presented that can be easily understood its meaning. The results of this study to describe that activity preservation information of digital collection through the media transfer have some obstacles encountered in terms of policy this activity has not been formulated specifically. In terms of Human Resources (HR) less of human that helps the process of preservation information, especially in the preparation prior to scanning. Further to the equipment used has a high price so that if the tools used are not directly damaged can be done repurchase yet fixed in advance when severe damage newly made purchases.
