Abstract

This research aims to know the perception of the users about the open access in library of faculty of law in Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The variableis a single variable that is the perception of the users about the open access in library of faculty of law in Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta. There are three sub variablesincluding the perception of the users about the library’s collection, the perception of the users about the library staff, and the perception of the users about the facility in the library. Those will be explored to be an indicator that consists of 30 statements. The sampling technique is a sampling incidental and for the sample are 96 respondents. The data analysis uses the formula of mean and grand mean. By using those formulas, the result for sub variable the perception of the users about library’s collection is 3.35 that can be categorized as very good. For sub variable the perception of the users about the library staff is 3.09 that can be categorized as good. The last sub variable the perception of the users about the facility in the library is 3.02 that can be categorized as good. The number of mean for all three sub variables that is calculated by using the formula of grand mean is 3.15 can be categorized as good. It can be concluded that the user’s perception about the open access in library of faculty of law in Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta based on the calculation of interval scale can be categorized as good. However, there are several elements that must be considered such as the improvement on the library staff. The staff should be more friendly and helpful to the users who find difficulties in library.
