Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the difference Happiness Young Orphanage Umar bin Khotob Bantul Yogyakarta Judging from Sex. Happiness is apositive emotion that comes from the strengt hand goodness in us that causes feelings of pleasure and describe the purpose of human life. The term adolescence or young teenagers orderived from the Latin word adolescere (noun, meaning adolescentia yang teens) which means "growing" or "grow up". Gender is division of two human gender is biologically determined attached to a specific gender. Consists of two types of human kind male and female human kind. The hypothesis is no difference in happiness teen Orphanage Umar bin Khotob Bantul, Yogyakarta, in terms of gender. The population in this study were young Orphanage Umar bin Khotob-gender male and female, amounting to 100 people. Sampling with non-random sampling technique and obtained research subjects were 68 adolescents. The method used in this research is quantitative. Data were obtained from measurements using as cale of happiness Seligman (2002). The analysis technique used is the difference Mann Whitney U test using SPSS version16.0. These results indicate that there are differences of happiness adolescent in Umar Bin Khotob Orphanage Bantul, Yogyakarta,in terms of gender with a correlation coefficient of 409.5 and p = 0.047.
