Abstract

This research aim to describe how to the spiritual quotient of elderly people in an old mosque of agung payaman islamic boarding house is. The boarding house has some religion programs to strengthen the close connection with Allah and guide the santris (inhabitants) to improve their spiritual quotients. The subject of this research contains there 60 year-old elderly people who stay in the islamic boarding house. Meanwhile, the other significances are two people as representtives of both boarding house staffs and teachers. The research use qualitative method, a study case approach and interactive technique by sorting and choosing the data, displaying in an then making the conclusion. Result of this research show that the elderly people staying in the islamic boarding house have three main problems which are health quality decrease, social matter, and fulfillment of their spiritual need. Those problem have common solution by actualizing divine values which the elderly people have. Besides that, some factors influence the spiritual quotients of the elderly people which are point of view, experience, literature, background, milieu and some related programs specially designed for them. Therefore, those who have a good spiritual quotient will easily adjust with their current progress of physical decrease power that they still feel happy without any burden and thank God as always.
