Abstract

Television is one of mass media which is still in demand by audiences because of its strength in the form of audio and visual support. It is a field of business for the production houses, media owners and advertisers to obtain profit as much as possible by producing interesting programs for the audiences. One of the programs that demand by audiences is light entertainment, or the show with sexuality as using female's body. One of the light entertainment which is visually exposing women’s body is Late Night Show, especially on episode of 12th November 2014 about, “Fenomena Artis Bookingan” with Trio Macan and Roro Fitria. If the show was watched by audiences, it will results in varieties of impact for audiences, including the students. Therefore, this study aims to determine the impact of mass communication from the program “Late Night Show”on 12th of November 2014 to the students of Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities year 2011. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative research method, by describing interview’s result from selected informants. Data results were analyzed according to the theory of mass communication effects with kind of approach that see the changes happened to the audiences. After witnessing the program “Late Night Show”on 12th of November 2014,the observable impacts on audiences are cognitive and affective side, but it does not change the behavior of the audiences.
