Abstract
Rhetoric is a common knowledge which is known as an art of speaking or writing with a persuasion purpose. Now, a lot of things that forms the rhetoric has been developed rapidly, such as advertisement, propaganda, campaign, and etc. However, a scope of education strategy rhetoric has still not be used in a maximal way. Exceedingly in a teaching of study in Islamic boarding house. Whereas, by using the rhetoric strategic, a teaching process would be more understandable for students (santriwati). Same as musyawarah which is an extra activity in Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Ummah Putri (MDNU Pi) Yogyakarta. Musyawarah has a quite rule in expanding the student’s knowledge the background purpose of musyawarah is to know deep down about instrument knowledge (Arabic grammar) that by mattering the knowledge, the students would study easier about others knowledge which its sources comes from Islam classic book. The purpose of the research is to know about the rhetoric strategic which is used by the musyawarah’s teacher in III Marhalah II MDNU Pi in delivering the subject matter. The student in III M II class would be a musyawarah teacher for their junior in the next study year. So, the deepening of the grammatic Arabic language knowledge is really needed. The research is a qualitative descriptive research. The researcher uses interview, observation and documentary as the collecting data method and analysis descriptive as the analysis data. The result of the research shows that the teacher of musyawarah groups in III Marhalah II MDNU Pi has been used the rhetoric strategic principle (the five canon of rhetoric), but has not maximal yet because of some factors : the difference study background and age.
