Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out: (1) the effect of the use of peer teaching learning method toward the result of physics lesson study of student X class Islamic senior high school Bawu Jepara. (2) The effect of using peer teaching learning method toward study of physics lesson motivation in student X class Islamic senior high school Bawu Jepara. This research is transparent research experiment with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The variable in this research is independent variable in form of peer teaching method and dependent variable is the motivation and the cognitive result of student studies. The population in this research is X class of MAN Bawu Jepara. To take the sample, this research is using simple random sampling, the researcher choose X class for experiment class and X2 class for control class. The instrument of collecting date is the result of cognitive and learning motivation questionnaire pretest-posttest question. Data analyzing using statistical parametric test. Independent and normalizing gain (N-gain). The result of research show that: (1) there is the effect of peer teaching learning method toward students’ cognitive learning with result (sig.2-tailed) pretest data 0,98, (sig.2- tailed) 0,00 for posttest data, n-gain experiment class 0,54 and n-gain control class 0,28. Besides that peer tutoring learning method is able to influence the improvement of students designated as a tutor for each group. (2) there is the effect of peer teaching learning method to the student motivation with result (sig.2-tailed) 0,02 for pretest data, (sig.2-tailed) 0,76 for posttest data, effect size experiment class 0,42 and effect size control class -0,53. Indicators of motivation that is increasing is about the activities of interest in learning so that the learning method of peer tutoring able to increase the interest of students studying physics.
