Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas tentang proses konversi spiritualitas mantan narapidana yang sebelumnya hidup dengan segala perilaku menyimpang dan jauh dari nilai agama kini berubah menjadi individu yang mengedepankan nilai-nilai agama dalam setiap sikap dan perilakunya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data lewat observasi, wawancara serta beberapa dokumentasi yang mendukung. Subjek dalam penelitin ini berjumlah 2 (dua) orang mantan narapidana yang telah melakukan konversi secara khusus dari dimensi spiritualitas. Adapun subjek dalam penelitian ini bertempat tinggal di Kuningan-Jawa Barat, dan Kulonprogo-Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya tiga aspek mendasar yang menyertai terbentuknya konversi spiritualitas yang dialami mantan narapidana dalam penelitian ini. Ketiga aspek tersebut meliputi: Konflik batin; berupa pertentangan batin antara perilaku dengan nilai agama yang diyakini, yang dipicu kondisi ketidakberdayaan & teralienasi, rasa iba dan pengalaman spiritual. Pencarian; bentuk konsekuensi dari krisis lewat pencarian berbagai hal yang membawa pada ketenangan batin dan kebahagiaan jiwa. Komitmen; berupa kemantapan jiwa untuk sepenuhnya berkonversi spiritual kepada nilai-nilai Islam yang ditandai dengan perilaku taat beragama dan meninggalkan seutuhnya tindakan kriminal yang pernah menjadi sebuah kebiasaan. Kata kunci: Konversi, Spiritualitas, Mantan Narapidana Abstract This research investigate the psycological dynamic of spiritual conversion prosess of ex-prisioner in which the whole of their life far from religious values and always in the deviation. But at this present they change become religious individual in whole of their behavior and action. This research approach is fenomenology and use a qualitative method. The data is gathered by observation, indeep interview, and some support documentations.. Technique to determination of informant is purposive, and from this technique, the number of informant in this research is two of ex-prisioners, resident in Kuningan-West Java, and Kulonprogo-Yogyakarta that had experienced conversion in spiritual dimension. The result of this research show that there are natural aspects of spiritual conversion ex-prisioner from this research. There are (a) Crisis; it’s token from contestation between religious values and behavior they did, and this condition influenced by the end of one’s rope, and alienation, compassionate feeling, and spiritual experience of informant. (b) Quest, this is an influence of crisis stage then caused a composure and happiness their soul. (c) Commitment, is extremely steady condition to spiritual conversion in Islamic religious. It’s token by their obedient in islam and leave away the crimes who always they did in the past. Keyword : conversion, spirituality, ex-prisioner
