Abstract

New entertainment phenomenon in the form of Stand Up Comedy, attracted the attention of many people. Stand Up Comedy become a favorite show to many people, but this makes a lot of comic think how create new material and entertain the public. In this research explained about how the intrapersonal communication process comic in the develop the issue to make Stand Up Comedy material, using three theory of humor, namely the theory of superiority and degradation, biosisasi theory and the theory of the secretion of the inhibition. The type of this research using qualitative descriptive approach. The determination of the subject in this research using the technique of purposive sampling, which the subjects are three comics from the community Stand Up Comedy of UIN Jogja which ever invited to perform Stand Up Comedy. While the object of this research is to know how the comic intrapersonal communication process from the community of Stand Up Comedy UIN Jogja in developing the issue of the matter for the making of material of Stand Up Comedy. The conclusion from this research is the process of communication intrapersonal of comics developing the issue for the making of material of Stand Up Comedy with three theory of humor above shows a commonality through the four stages which are the sensation, perception, memory and think. In the function of thinking, researcher found the informants tend to use the function of thinking for decision-making.
