Abstract

Islamic Banking is a financial institution which has a unique character that is not owned by a conventional bank. The unique character owned Islamic bank that has a performance measurement in terms of sharia. This is because the performance of Islamic banks is not only measured by conventional financial aspects alone, but measured by maqashid aspects of sharia. This research is comparative. This study aims to determine the results of the comparative performance of Bank Syariah Mandiri and Bank Muamalat Indonesia using CAMEL calculation and Maqashid Sharia Index. The data used is secondary data obtained from the annual report of Bank Syariah Mandiri and Bank Muamalat Indonesia year period 2012-2015. The results of this research indicate that the value obtained CAMEL Bank Syariah Mandiri is superior compared to Bank Muamalat Indonesia. While the value of maqashid syariah index obtained by Bank Muamalat Indonesia is superior compared to Bank Syariah Mandiri.
