Abstract
This research aim to describe teenagers’s assertive communication to their fathers in Javanese family at Kampung Kauman Yogyakarta. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method with primary and secondary data sources. The researcher knew the teenagers’s assertive communication to their fathers in Javanese family at Kampung Kauman Yogyakarta through assertive communication characteristics and techniques which be done. This research is important to be done because of the problem that excessive respect made a child could not communicate to his father properly in Javanese culture and tradition. Assertive communication could be a solution to solve this problem. When the research was done, the researcher figured out that child able to communicate assertively depends to the education which applied by the father. If the father applied democratic education to the child, then the child would able to communicate assertively to the father well. While, if the father applied authoritative education to the child, then the child would not able to communicate assertively to the father well.
