Abstract

Interpersonal communication is communication that used for an account executive to getting the client, whether it is to approach new clients and to maintain old clients). Star Jogja FM is a radio who continued to increase advertising revenue from the years 2011-2015, their client was not just a local or regional clients, but also the client with national scale. One of the factors affecting the increase in advertising revenue is an important role of an account executive. This research was conducted to determine how the process of interpersonal communications account executive Star Jogja FM radio in approaching new customers and maintain old clients, and also know the enabling and inhibiting factors from account executive in the implementation of interpersonal communication with clients. The theoretical basis of this study are models of communication and interpersonal communication process, in which there are five basic law effective communication. This study uses qualitative research because it focuses on interpersonal communication descriptive study, which is to produce descriptive data in the form of words written or spoken of people and behaviors that can be observed, also describes the circumstances experienced by the subjects in the research. The results of this research concluded that interpersonal communication plays a very important for account executive Star Jogja FM radio in getting a client, especially at the stage of establishing relations, because at this stage that will determines the presence or absence of cooperation with a new client, or the continuation of cooperation with the old client in the future.
