Abstract

Puput Tri Hardiyanti, Deity-Trusting Based Reality Counseling in Increasing Self Esteem of Students in State MTs Bantul City. Thesis. Yogyakarta: Islamic Concentration of Instruction and Counseling, Study Program Interdisiplinary Islamic Studies 2017. This research aimed to examine, whether deity trusting based reality counseling can increase self esteem of students. By reason while students who have high self esteem, thus it will make the students become more self-confidence, become more able to express their ideas and can associate with their friends without any inferior feeling. The use of Islamic element i.e. deity trusting in counseling service is a part of concept of religious proselytizing where in the reality counseling to persuade human to change from a situation that contain non-Islamic value into Islamic values, through the comprehension pattern of the interpretation of trusting to Allah likes consider on the power of Allah, having good expectation on all decision of Allah and trust to Allah. While reality counseling is collaborated with deity trusting, the emphasize is not merely on the change of behaviour, however on the comprehension of problem from cause, purpose, advantage, capability in solving problem and creation of more positive behaviour. This research used experiment research design model one group pretest and posttest design that involved 8 students of State MTs of Bantul City. The determination of subject was chosen through purposive sampling by determined criteria. The measurement was conducted by psychology tools i.e. self esteem scale. The collected data was analyzed using differential test of wilcoxon signed ranks test. The result of wilcoxon was gained significance value of 0.007 0.05 by Z = -2,714. It shows that there is different on self esteem of students pre treatment and post treatment or counseling service, meanwhile on differential test the difference of pretest and posttest was gained mean value of 87,38 become 136,25. It means there is difference score between pre treatment and post treatment. Through this result it can be said that deity trusting based reality counseling can increase self esteem of students. Between deity trusting technique here is providing of comprehension by watching video and discuss about material of trusting to Allah, i.e. comprehend on power of Allah, have good expectation to Allah and trust toAllah. The researcher concludes that deity trusting based reality counseling can increase self esteem of students, thus the deity trusting concept through pattern of comprehension of trusting to God can manifest the advantage, i.e. the more positive self esteem, i.e. someone will know more on himself either about his beneficence or lack, comprehend on the expectation towards himself, have good expectation towards result given by Allah and know himself and also become able to responsible towards all he have prefered.
