Abstract

Diabetes mellitus or diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by metabolic abnormalities resulting from lack of insulin production by the pancreas. This disease can also occur due to lack of body response to insulin, or it can also result from the influence of other hormones that inhibit insulin performance. The role of prevention to cope with the number of diabetics in Indonesia caused one of the number of endocrinologists in Indonesia are still somewhat small. This is because there are still many health workers who are not trained so can not keep up with the increase in diabetics. In addition, it also requires a lot of money to treat diabetes. The purpose of this clinical decision support system application is to help and facilitate the public to know diabetes mellitus disease that is suffered. The process of diagnosing diabetes mellitus is done by including perceived symptoms through the application of clinical decision support systems. So with the clinical decision support system is expected to not be late patients know the disease being suffered, and the disease does not develop at an advanced stage because the treatment of the disease quickly done. This clinical decision support system uses certainty factor method and forward chaining inference tracing method. System testing shows that the system is able to diagnose diabetes mellitus based on symptoms suffered by the user. Based on the results of the percentage of testing performed, it can be concluded that the functional clinical decision support system is already able to function properly. Some users said 60% strongly agree with the interface and the functional percentage of the system has been running well at 100%. As for the percentage of system feasibility based on medical records record of 76.7%.
