Abstract

Determination of the human ideal body weight, is generally carried out by mathematical calculation using a specific formula in order to obtain the ideal body weight category. In fact there are many people who are not able to determine the ideal weight category because there is no tool that can be used to determine the ideal weight of human practical and accurate. Therefore, this research tries to create a Digital Image Processing System using an Android device to determine the ideal weight of human practical and accurate using edge detection method based on the input image of the human body are taken using a camera from a distance. The first way, the researcher conducted an analysis of the calculation of the derivative formula to be used, using a formula approach tube. Furthermore, researchers propose several scenarios preprocessing with the help of OpenCV to determine the best edge detection. In next step, is performing unit convertion and proposing some algorithms to find the body height and the body weight. Furthermore, the calculation formula used Body Mass Index (BMI) to determine the ideal body weight of human in the image. The analysis result found the formula of BSA (m2) = ((3,14/2)x(((0,43xb)/1,57)xb)+((((0,43xb)/1,57)+b)xt)) x (0,33)2 x 1,0023 x 0.0001. While, the result of preprocessing analysis shows that the Scenario 2 (Median Blur + Canny) produce the best edge detection. Then the result of the analysis show that the algorithm calculation algorithm C (calculate the width of the object starts from a position of high image adjust to half the height of the object in the image) is the best algorithm with the value of the average percentage difference between the system deviation of 1,85 % in height and 8,87% against the weight. Then for the system’s accuracy rate is determining the ideal weight has reached 78,7% against the category comparison with the actual body weight category on the calculation system.
